Card Reader does not function inspite of being 'seen' by Ubuntu Jaunty
9.04. Have checked multiple forums but no luck.

This is the card reader. Please let me know if you require any
additional information.
Additionally (not a very important thing) I would need to control laptop
brightness using the Fn keys which is not working the way it should. It
goes from high to low but nothing beyond that. I am using the ext4
filesystem.
