Thank you for the reply, it seems like an odd error, but we'll
investigate it.

Can you open a terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal), and type these 
commands (hit enter at the end of each):
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get check

When it asks for your password, just enter it and hit enter.
Can you give us the output/result of the second command (sudo apt-get check)?

When I tried to install the updates using Update Manager, I got a Summary 
pop-up window with a message "You are about to install software that can't be 
authenticated!Doing this could allow a malicious individual to damage or take 
control of your system."
