The Most Cost-effective Solution After I did some google on this error and decided to try all these solutions. Finally, what worked for me was to simply go the nearest shop and buy Verbatim CD-R and burn the ubuntu ISO again. Please note that the Live CD installation works well with Verbatim CD's. I have burned more than 15 CDs of (inferior brands) and tried installations with no luck until I used this disk. After 3 days of google and hair pulling, I am now enjoying Ubuntu 9.04.
