I have the same problem, but I think I figured out a way to work around
it. In my xorg.conf I added the following to my nvidia device section:
Option "UseCompositeWrapper" "True"
I did this to work around bug #188736, but it seems to work around this
bug as well. Since the same xorg.conf setting works around both bugs, I
wonder if this bug is actually a duplicate of bug #188736.
Note that this option is for the proprietary nvidia driver. This option
is documented in the nvidia driver README. I'm running 64-bit version
180.60, and the README for that version is located here:
