Same problem with a DELL M4300, the controller ( Intel Corporation 82801HBM/HEM (ICH8M/ICH8M-E) SATA AHCI Controller (rev 02) (prog-if 01)) was using the ata_piix driver. Switched to AHCI in the BIOS, no problems so far.
