Hi,

I tested Karmic (alpha 2), and it has a kernel panic after the grub
bootloader. I'm sorry, but I found no useable way to get some useful
information.

But:
So I updated my 9.04 to kernel 2.6.30 and also the xserver-xorg-video-intel to
2:2.7.99.901+git20090701.1e4784bf-0ubuntu0sarvatt~jaunty
and everything is working well (including KernelModesetting). I used the way
descriped in:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/KernelModeSetting
Also the DVI-output works now fine.

I think this topic can be closed. I think the kernel panic in Karmic
alpha 2 has nothing to do with the intel driver, and 9.04 is working
very well now with the updated kernel and video-driver.

Thanks a lot

Robert
