I did state in my report that

"I have checked System -> Preferences -> Startup Applications and do NOT
find Evolution listed. I also cannot find an Evolution preference that
says to start automatically."

As far as "save state" goes I'm not sure what that means. I have not
started Evolution since initial configuration in April when I did a
clean install of Jaunty. Like I said, this just recently started
happening. This is frustrating but happens only when I boot. Normally I
suspend by laptop. That's why I can't be more precise as to exactly when
this started. I may go a week or so before rebooting.

I don't really care how it happened, I just would like to know how to
make it stop starting automatically. What should I look for?
