Forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this, but I get this when trying to install 9.04 on two Toshiba Portege 7200's and a Compaq AP500. On all three I have installed and run many previous versions of Ubuntu. They all run 8.04 fine at the moment.
I have scoured the forums and tried all sorts of options (see my May 29 post at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1134107&page=6). I have used various different CD's. Yesterday I tried the alternate one. This ran the install process fine, including a fair amount of network activity. But when rebooting after the install (with quiet removed, also with various permutations of noapic apci=off nousb all_generic_ide), it again fails with udevd-event [945]: '/sbin/modprobe -b pci:v0000125Dd000...' ... abnormal exit -- udevd-event (1558): run_program: '/sbin/modprobe' abnormal exit https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362766 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
