Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnupg
Key 0xEC0E954C has a second UID with non-utf8-chars. If you print the key with
--fixed-list-mode --with-colons, the char is not being escaped. It is drawn as a
char with forign encoding.
The manual says (`man gpg`):
[...] The output will be encoded in UTF-8 regardless of any --display-charset
setting.
This is a serios bug, since it will break *all* programmes, relying on UTF-8
output. In my python programme I cannot determine the encoding for a single
char.
Please download above mentioned key from any keyserver and see for
yourself:
$ gpg --keyserver wwwkeys.de.pgp.net --recv EC0E954C
$ gpg --list-key --with-colon --fixed-list-mode EC0E954C
<snip>uid .... G?nther</snip> (instead of german u-Umlaut: Günther).
Any help is appreciated.
