the problem with your longer list of directories is that not even the empty directories will be created in the squashfs. tmp, dev, proc and var need to exist as mountpoints for essential services.
it would be good to have a simple --exclude-dirs option for ltsp-update- image for cases like yours, but it will not be straightforward to write i assume since the check mechanisms we would need in place to make sure all essential directory trees are there will be rather complex. ** Summary changed: - ltsp-update-image shhould grow an "--exclude-dirs" function which allows you to exclude contents of directories from the squashfs if they are not essentially needed. + ltsp-update-image should grow an "--exclude-dirs" function which allows you to exclude contents of directories from the squashfs if they are not essentially needed. -- ltsp-update-image should grow an "--exclude-dirs" function which allows you to exclude contents of directories from the squashfs if they are not essentially needed. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/395486 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
