[open to anyone's suggestions/questions]

DELL LATITUDE D600

UBUNTU 9.04 (2.6.28-13)
updates: jaunty-security/updates/proposed/backports
b43-fwcutter 1:011-5

Wifi started having problems finding/using networks, then stopped showing
networks at all and attempts to connect to 'hidden' networks failed; use of
borrowed RT2501USB wifi worked fine. Did not notice bug specific or generally
related.

- tried deactivating driver, shutdown, unplug power, replug power, reboot,
reactive driver - FAIL
- tried starting under -12 and -11 kernal image - FAIL
- tried 'sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart' - FAIL
- tried 'ifconfig wlan0 down', 'ifconfig wlan0 up' - FAIL

ifconfig wlan0
wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:90:96:ac:a3:XX
          UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B)

EXPECTED: Wifi to list networks and connect.

ACTUAL: Wifi does not list networks, does not connect with
hidden/direct entries.

** Affects: b43-fwcutter (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
