Nope... Attaching a fan to the northbridge was not a solution. i resized the VLC Window when suddenly the mouse died. The keyboard was still functional (Num-Lock light reacted as expected) but the screen did not react as it should. VLC did still play the movie but ALT+F2 did not show up the starter. It took about 45 seconds before my screen reacted to my keyboard again. Luckily i was able to shutdown the system correctly.
