Public bug reported:
I updated yesterday Jaunty to Karmic and had a problem with the grub2
installed in the Ubuntu at the other partition, which remained Jaunty -
because of this problem, I was loading a .28 kernel in Karmic. However,
the internet was ok; as soon as I booted the .31 kernel
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/395549) network-manager could
not connect. It wouldn't even show the available networks; nothing. The
Jaunty Ubuntu I'm using now to file this bug tells me there's nothing
wrong with my connection.
Moreover, I think that network-manager may not be the source of the
problem, since I've managed to install wicd there and I've got the same
situation: no connectivity at all.
