Public bug reported:
Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty ) working OK after online upgrade from Intrepid. 2-3 days
ago a recommend upgrade was accepted and this new kernel was installed. The
boot process stops a few seconds after the splash screen appears.
I edited grub to remove "splash".
Kernel panic occurs on the 2nd page:
avc_has_perm_noaudit+0x186/0x1b0 SS:ESP 0068:c072bc14
Kernel panic-not syncing Fatal exception in interrupt
If I boot from the "recovery" line of grub for this kernel and choose
the 1st option "Continue with normal boot" the boot process continues
perfectly.
Rebooting and selecting the "normal" - top line 2.6.28-13-generic boot:
I edited grub and changed SELINUX=1 to SELINUX=0 which I presume disables
SELINUX. The boot process progresses normally.
