As suggested by Robert Y. I think the script needs a rewrite so that it
will set /proc/acpi/video/*/DOS to 0 when on hp 530, HP nc8000 and other
similar laptops. And /proc/acpi/video/*/DOS to 1 for others where it
causes problems. I have nominated this bug for Karmic and hope that now
the developer of the script may be able to fix it (atleast after so much
info on the bug given by users it should be easy now, I think).
