Are you sure you didn't delete the gdm.conf-custom file manually?

I cannot confirm this bug:

*) Purged GDM 2.26 (including all GDM related files a file search returned)
*) Installed GDM 2.20.10-0ubuntu5, /etc/gdm contained the (empty)
gdm.conf-custom
*) Used gdmsetup to enable autologin, gdm.conf-custom contained the relevant
information
*) Upgraded to GDM 2.26.1-0ubuntu2 - gdm.conf-custom still was there holding
the autologin information
