Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: ekiga
WHAT HAPPENED
-----------------------
I created a wav file that was about 60 seconds long in duration and I assigned
this as my incoming call sound event.
This was a bad idea.
What happens now is this: If someone calls me, Ekiga plays the whole 60
seconds of the wav file, even if the caller hung up after only 5 seconds of
ringing.
But worse still, if I answer/accept the incoming call, the wav file
keeps on playing! And although it seems like we are connected (I think
we are in fact) we cannot hear one another! :( (I think also that if
you persevere and wait for the wav file to finish playing, it starts
playing it from the start again, but perhaps the caller had called just
called me again???)
WHAT I EXPECTED TO HAPPEN
--------------------------------------
What I expect to happen is that same thing that happens on my mobile cell
phone, that as soon as the call is answered (or as soon as the caller stops
ringing me) Ekiga stops playing the wav file and does what it is supposed to
do, let me talk to the caller.
SOFTWARE VERSIONS
---------------------------
This is on Ekiga 2.01.12 on Ubuntu Hardy, but I reckon the same probably
happens on v3.0, but I've not tested that.
Description: Ubuntu 8.04.3 LTS
Release: 8.04
ekiga:
Installed: 2.0.12-0ubuntu2
Candidate: 2.0.12-0ubuntu2
Version table:
