I can confirm that hibernation does not work with 1GB of RAM and the default setting of /sys/power/image_size. Setting the latter to 0 helps. The kernel documentation states that the kernel will then use the smallest possible value. I see no negative effects in this. As todays computer probably mostly have >= 1GB RAM, IMHO the default value of this setting should be changed. What is necessary to let this happen? I am willing to provide additional information (logs etc.) if necessary.
