More info: in the X screensaver the timeouts for standby, suspend and off are indepentently set.
standby and suspend work as expected. but the "off" mode just seems to switch off the signal and the monitor does not recognize this as an off mode, and shows a no signal message. Seems the dmps "off" mode is not working. This is the same monitor and machine used when it was working. No hardware has changed. .b. b wrote: > Correction. > > xset does behave the same as gnome-screen-saver, so it seems something > else is wrong. > > I've installed xscreensaver and that seems to be working fine, the > display goes into suspend and I don't get the no signal complaint. > > .b. > > b wrote: >> Public bug reported: >> >> DMPS suspend is no longer trigged by gnome-power-preferences. >> >> Instead the CRT (Samsung 950p) just displays a "no signal" message. >> >> This was working in all previous ubuntu releases. >> >> The following commands properly puts the display into suspend mode: >> >> xset +dpms >> xset dpms force suspend >> >> So its not the display, but something different about how gnome-power- >> preferences puts the display to sleep. >> >> Jaunty upgrade as of today, gnome 2.26.1, on a Duron 800 kt7 board w/ >> nvidia 5200 AGP gfx. >> >> .b. >> >> ** Affects: ubuntu >> Importance: Undecided >> Status: New >> > -- dmps suspsend no longer works, intrepid/jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/384436 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
