Public bug reported: Binary package hint: b43-fwcutter
I have Intrepid (x64) operating and want to update to Jaunty... After long time of downloading packages and waiting for configure, the installation process is in a LOOP, due to a fail of package b43-fwcutter. I found the same problem when I reinstalled manually the package, and has VERY EASY SOLUTION. This package downloads firmware for my wifi (broadcom, HP) from openwrt.org... Exactly the file it try to download is: http://mirror2.openwrt.org/sources/broadcom-wl-4.150.10.5.tar.bz2 However, THIS URL doesn't exists. Looking for the file in the domain I found that the correct URL is: http://downloads.openwrt.org/sources/broadcom-wl-4.150.10.5.tar.bz2 The correct URL has to be written into the download script named install_bcm43xx_firmware.sh, inside the package. Greetings from Córdoba, Spain. ** Affects: b43-fwcutter (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Bad reference to firmware's URL causes loop that avoid ubuntu update! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/397512 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
