Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: base-installer
Ubuntu 6.10
when installing from alternate-cd-i386 in a RAID5 Mylex acceleraid 160 with 4
18.2 GB disks it writes in /boot/grub/menu.lst kernel parameters
root=/dev/rd!c0d0p1 when it should write root=/dev/rd/c0d0p1 and it didn't boot
with that option.
the computer is a Fujitsu B210 with 2x933 PIII and 1GB of RAM with the RAID5.
I had to change kopt entry in the menu.lst, so that when i tries to update grub
doesn't give the same problem.
when installing from the DVD i couldn't choose partitions for / and all the
other mount points cause the installers didn't see them, that's why i've chosen
to install from alternate-cd.
