Public bug reported:

I'm so new to this hope I get it right. source package: gnome panel:
message: OAFIID: Gnome_mint menu the panel encountered a problem while
loading delete the applet? 1. release: Linuxmint felicia 2. package
version s: mintmenu 4.2.2 gnome panel 1:2.24.1-Oubuntu2.1 3. after
starting the computer towards the finish of the loadup up come the
linuxmint menu icon in the left end of the panel at the bottom of the
screen. 4: instead I received the above message: OAFIID: Gnome_mint
menu the panel encountered a problem while loading delete the
applet? the first time booting up I received this message I clicked
don't delete, but could not see any way into the menu and no Icons on
the desktop. on 2nd boot got same mess. and deleted and recovered
desktop icons, but still no menu icon. I was able to bring things up by
gnome do & memory, installed gnome menu icon in it's place so I have
function, but no mint menu applet, even, when I tried to reload from Add
To Panel right click menu.

further note that may be of value: synaptic, and some other apps that
require sudo authorization, I would get the message that mint menu
couldn't grab it somehow, but when I went through control panel I could
access them.

thanks, Brad
