Upon trying to install Ubuntu Server 8.10 (lts) as a clean install over an old version of Ubuntu Desktop 7.04, I am getting this exact issue.
My drive is a WDC WD200EB, and my IDE Device is correctly identified in 7.04 as "82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 IDE" which seems to be a bog-standard Intel IDE chipset on my Intel SE440BX-2 Motherboard. I am willing to upload all the necessary files, but wasn't sure of the protocol. Do I need to open a separate bug, or just start adding files to this one? I would really like to use 8.10 since it has a longer life-cycle, but am willing to try 9.04. -- Fail to detect Western Digital hard drive on install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/291757 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
