Same problem on an MSI EX620. I also needed to manually edit the 'alsa-base.conf' file to incluse the '3stack-dig' option. What is strange as well is that I have to enable the Headphone switch on the Alsa mixer to get the front speakers to work. Another annoying thing is that the front speakers don't disable when I plugin my headphones. So I need to manually disable the front speakers (by disabling the Headphone switch).
