Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

Since update-manager 1:0.124.2, after reading the package information
downloaded update-manager refuses to release the mouse cursor (it keeps
spinning forever). If updates were found they are shown in the window,
but they are grayed out so I cannot browse them, read descriptions etc.
The buttons (Install Updates, Settings, Close) are active and can be
pressed, even though the cursor spins.

The workaround is to open update manager to download package
information, close it, and then restart it in order to review the
updates before installing them.
