Norman: Ultimately your patch is what I want too, but I felt it was more benign to stick with whatever liferea developers intended as a default. My hope is that this would allow Ubuntu devs/MOTUs to maybe, possibly, some day pick it up and add it to the package without risk for unaffected liferea users.
