thanks for the report, so do you get the same with totem, mplayer and
totem ? that'd maybe isn't a program issue then sounds more like a video
driver problem, which video driver are you using? could you attach your
xorg.conf to the report? thanks.

video playing produces severe interference & in addition on linux startup. This
then clears when fully loaded - until I play a video - double image I think? I
am using a Sony Trinitron Display
