Thanks for your report, which is also bug 33394. While this bug is still
open, we actually don't really consider it a bug that you have to remove
ubuntu-minimal in this case - it's entirely OK for you to do so. ubuntu-
minimal doesn't ship any actual content, only dependencies.
In any case, rsyslog will be the default system log daemon in karmic, so
this won't be an issue for you.
