Hi Daniel, "Can you provide the PDB file? I cannot reproduce a general segmentation fault when trying to create a Gaussian input file, so it might be related to your PDB file."
I don't think it is, since I can create a Gaussian input file on a different computer. Same pdb, same version of gabedit, only difference is I have Ubuntu 9 on my home PC and Ubuntu 8 on my laptop. I included a copy of one of my pdb's that I couldn't make a Gaussian input file from, but was successful on my home PC. "Did you use some special options, when you created the input file?" No, and when I use a different computer (my computer at home rather than my laptop) I can create the file easily. For example, I could have no pdb file at all in the system, click on create new Gaussian file, and the program crashes. The way I have been getting around this, is saving my pdb files and putting them on a flash drive to bring home and just create them on my home PC. Either that or I have a simple LINUX script to extract the coordinates from a pdb file. I tried reinstalling gabedit; however, i still see the same segmentation fault. I was thinking maybe some files were corrupt, since I can create any other file. But still get the same response. The problem seems to be localize on my laptop computer, is there a way to completely remove it from my hard drive so that there is no reminisce of it existing. That is the only thing I can think of to fix it.
