OK I disabled the gnome-settings-daemon plugin for the keyboard and the error
stopped. So I will assign this as a duplicate of 199245 and add a comment. I do
still get the following when I start any gui though:
Xlib: extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display ":1000.0".
Xlib: extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display ":1000.0".
Xlib: extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display ":1000.0".
Xlib: extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display ":1000.0".
Xlib: extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display ":1000.0".
Whats all that about?
