I think this is one of those bugs that might be difficult for an ordinary user to reproduce. I'm hesitant to break a package intentionally in my squeaky-clean Jaunty installation just to check whether Synaptic shows the whole error message!
If someone could help me, maybe I could try it in a chroot environment or something. But it really seems like the problem is that Synaptic receives the whole message from the dpkg backend and mistakenly truncates it. If someone familiar with the link between Synaptic and dpkg could take a look at this, they might be able to find the problem, or verify that it's already fixed, quickly. -- Unnecessarily incomplete advice for package in inconsistent state https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/227543 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
