Although I understand, that this is a bad situation for you, this is not
a bug in the expat packages. You crashed your system while working with
the packaging system. It seems, something has been broken on your box.
You might try to do the package installation steps manually (unpacking,
configuring, ...) via dpkg and enable verbose output of the maintainmer
scripts after unpackaging ("set -ex" at the top) to check, what goes
wrong. But that is not a bug in the package. If you need help, try one
of the various forums, mailing lists or newsgroups.
