@komputes: No, miniupnpd is a UPnP and NAT-PMP traversal daemon. Apples' AirPort and TimeCapsule run such a daemon too, not miniupnpd though.
(Ubuntu users can already make port forwarding changes on Apple's time capsule. Applications like Pidgin and Transmission speak UPnP and NAT- PMP, they make appropriate mappings while running.
