Public bug reported:
I have an Amstrad GP1000 GPS device.
This device has an usb connection, used (with windows) to flash new
firmware or sync the device.
When I connect this device in windows it works ok, but in my hardy,
intrepid and jaunty installations when i connect this particular device
the pc freeze instantly and don't respond even at sys-reqs. I need to
unplug the pc.
I didn't have an error log to submit, because all I found in the
/var/log/kernel and /var/log/syslog is attached in the syslog.log file
Attaching my device at a arch linux powered pc, i gathered this line:
Jul 19 12:55:56 hpippo kernel: usb0: register 'cdc_subset' at
usb-0000:00:0b.1-2, AnchorChips/Cypress 2720, 16:3a:31:4b:c1:ef
and the pc didn't freeze.
Actually the latest kernel that freeze is:
Linux toshi 2.6.30-020630-generic #020630 SMP Wed Jun 10 09:45:40 UTC 2009 i686
GNU/Linux
