I made /etc/default/hal the following:
DAEMON_OPTS="--verbose=yes --daemon=no"

and then ran:
sudo /etc/init.d/hal restart > /tmp/hal 2>&1

I pulled out the portion before inserting flash drive and the portion
after. Attached.

Any help appreciated. This happens on two separate computers running
amd64 Ubuntu 8.04 and as I mentioned can do sudo mount just fine.

Thank you
Misha
