I am sure that your scanner issue doesn't have anything to do with your
Antivirus program. I believe SANE (the Ubuntu scanner backend) does not
support your scanner but I could be wrong. Here is a list of supported
scanners. http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html#Z-HEWLETT-PACKARD
Sorry

** Summary changed:

- scanner cant be found
+ HP Deskjet F2275 scanner not working

** Description changed:

- Binary package hint: gnome-terminal
-
I have a HP print/scanner, and it reads it as a printer. I had another
HP print/scanner before, and it had the same problem. Fortunately that
one died. The problem I have with this one, which is model number HP
Deskjet F2275 all-in-one, is that it sees it as a printer, and the
printer works fine, but doesn't recognise the scanner. I can't find it
on the system, as it says it cant see it, and I have tried other things
as suggested on the help and support forums, but cant get it to be seen
  by my computer.

I do have another problem as well, where I cant update my antivirus. I
don't know if it is me, or the computer (probably me), and I don't know
if they are related problems, but I thought I'd mention it.

I hope you can help me out. I am using the latest ubuntu version, from
  about a month ago.
