Update.

Issue still present in Jaunty.

exo-open /usr/share/applications/brasero.desktop
method return sender=:1.9 -> dest=:1.48 reply_serial=2
and the application is launched

desktop-file-validate /usr/share/applications/brasero.desktop
nothing

Anything I can do to help ?

Any link to how menus are "created" ? I understand they are dynamically
created from .desktop files though I think it is a little bit more
complicated. Any link to some info on that topic that could help me
debug this any further ?

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: brasero

  Brasero version : 0.9.1-0ubuntu3~intrepid1
  Distrib : Xubuntu Interpid
+
+ Update : Same issue on
+ Brasero version : 2.26.1-0ubuntu1
+ Distrib : Xubuntu Jaunty

  /usr/share/applications/brasero.desktop seems correct. However brasero
does not launch when clicking on the menu icon.

(Besides I don't understand where the icon label comes from. It says
"Gravure de CD / DVD", which is not what is written in the .desktop
file. ("Gravure de disque Brasero") Would there be another .desktop file
  involved ?)
