I have a similar problem too. Ubuntu amd64 9.04
A couple of examples: Youtube: can listen to the video's audio but cannot
watch, black screen.
Yahoo video: cannot listen and/or watch.
I have run this command sudo apt-get install alsa-oss which enabled the audio
on Youtube, I couldn't run the rest as the command is not recognized.
Then I've installed the nonfree flashplugin, no luck.
If you tell me how to run a report of the system I will get back here
and attach it.
