Public bug reported:

I have a Gigabyte Motheboard GA-G33M-DS2R, a Vertex-SSD-30GB and two
Western Digital RE3 320GB disk.

I must install the '/' in Vertex and the /home in a RAID volume with the
two WD RE3.

I have try to install Karmic with Alternate CD but at the stage of disk
partition the installer freezes.
I noticed the same problem with AHCI mode too. But if I disable in the bios the
AHCI mode or RAID mode, the installer works fine.

Ultimately the installer works only in IDE mode.
