Ok, I was unsure if this was really a valid bug, because you mention several things, but, since you are using firefox to download an archive, apparently, and that fails, it is hardly a bug in ubuntu. Looks like the link is broken.
Do you hear the welcome sound when you log on? If so, your sound card is working. I suggest you go to www.adobe.com and try and download the plugin from there if you have not done so yet. Last time I tried, the link was working. As for your "linux is super slow" experience, I suggest you open another bug for that and explain in more detail what your complaint is. What is slow? are you starting from the DVD, or have you installed it locally on your hard drive? If you are starting from the DVD, it is normal that the software response is slower than a hard drive install, because the access speed to a DVD is significantly slower than to a hard drive. ** Summary changed: - downloaded Linix, super slow & cannot download shockwave or anything that allows videos & sound + downloaded Linux, super slow & cannot download shockwave or anything that allows videos & sound -- downloaded Linux, super slow & cannot download shockwave or anything that allows videos & sound https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/404478 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
