Public bug reported:
Karmic Alpha 3 doesn't load desktop when booting from a live system (mine is a
usb drive).
After Ubuntu splash, all I see is a black screen and the "loading" cursor
spinning, but desktop never loads.
The USB drive LED shines a little, then stops shining three or four times then
stops forever.
No login sound is played.
What should happen: Ubuntu Karmic Alpha 3 desktop should show
What happens instead: A black screen loads forever
Steps to reproduce: boot from a live usb system, choose "Try Ubuntu without any
change to your system" and wait
