Suspend to RAM stopped working for me on my Thinkpad R500 (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400) after I had upgraded from Intrepid to Jaunty (x86_64). Using the fglrx driver, the machine suspended fine but X failed to restore the screen after resume (got just a black screen). Upgrading to latest proprietary drivers (8.632, instructions: http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_Jaunty_Installation_Guide) seems to have solved the problem.
