In Ubuntu, I think this issue would be classified as a "grave defect". This completely prevents pydoctor from working on Hardy. Why even have the package if it's entirely broken? Can someone at least apply the patch Johannes attached three months ago? If it helps at all, I tried it and it fixes the problem. Also, I am an expert Python programmer and have some familiarity with the pydoctor codebase, and can see nothing technically wrong with the patch.
