I've been using Sil3512 exclusively on Debian Sid since then. No more errors reported.
It is an internal hardware issue of Sil3112A and its fixed only in drivers or BIOS update, and fix simply disables controller internal cache, leading to extreme slow perfomance. It wont fix if build in (NF-7S), so not using two SATA or better getting other controller card is best solution. Sil3112 may still be around and if kernel hackers decide to fix it in libata level, I will only welcome it, but Im not using this controller anymore. -- Copying from one sata drive to other produces errors https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/261769 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
