I've noticed the same problem. I can reproduce it on both desktop and server version of Ubuntu 9.10, even with a vanilla kernel.
On "desktop" installation `rmmod` and `modprobe` on vboxdrv ( but I think it can be any module) On "server" same commands for myri10ge driver.
