Yes it is reproducible, here are the steps: - Boot Ubuntu 9.04 desktop i386 CD - Go to: Places -> Network - Browse to: Windows network -> [workgroup] -> [samba server] -> [share] - Drag a file from the share and drop it on the desktop, while holding CTRL+SHIFT
An icon will appear on the desktop, with the same name as the dragged file and the "no read" / "no write" emblems. Doubleclicking on that icon would give a "The link [filename] is broken. Move it to trash?" The expected behaviour of course is that the icon should work as any other link (maybe linking to $HOME/.gvfs under the hood?)
