Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

When playing an audio/video file no sound comes out of the speaker.
After touching every slider in alsamixer and toggling the "Audigy
Analog/Digital Output Jack" option the sound came out of the speakers.
After rebooting, the sound was gone. After messing with the sliders and
options in alsamixer again, I get the sound back. Then rebooting, and
the sound was gone again. I tried to find the right alsamixer
combination to enable the sound, but this time I had no luck. In jaunty
it was sufficient to set the "Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack" option
correct, to get the sound working.
