Happened to me, too. This is a regression since Jaunty. $ uname -a Linux lappy 2.6.31-2-generic #17-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jul 10 21:48:17 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux $ cat /etc/issue Ubuntu karmic (development branch) \n \l $ sudo isoinfo dev=/dev/cdrom -d CD-ROM is in ISO 9660 format System id: APPLE COMPUTER, INC., TYPE: 0002 Volume id: KID_PIX_4 Volume set id: NOT_SET Publisher id: Data preparer id: Application id: TOAST ISO 9660 BUILDER COPYRIGHT (C) 1997-2002 ROXIO, INC. - HAVE A NICE DAY Copyright File id: Abstract File id: Bibliographic File id: Volume set size is: 1 Volume set sequence number is: 1 Logical block size is: 2048 Volume size is: 317906 Joliet with UCS level 1 found NO Rock Ridge present $ sudo isoinfo dev=/dev/cdrom -fJ | grep -i bigpick /Data/BigPicker.MHK $ mount /dev/cdrom $ ls /media/cdrom/data | grep -i bigpick bigpicke.mhk
Installing Kid Pix 4 fails because the installer puts up a dialog saying "Can't find data/BigPicker.MHK". The file appears as "data/bigpicke.mhk" when mounted on karmic. It appeared with the proper long name when mounted on jaunty. And my son is very disappointed! -- mounted cdrom doesn't display long filenames https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/396949 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
