Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Ubuntu 8.10 does not see the floppy drive - there seems to be no icon for it,
and it does not appear
in the file browser.

The floppy hardware is working OK, as it boots on a MSDOS 6.2 floppy OK.

Is there a way to diagnose or reinstall the floppy drive from Ubuntu or
a terminal window?

This version of Ubuntu was passed out at Scale7x in Los Angeles, 2/09.
