NO on my eee1000H, running 9.10 / 2.6.31-rc5 (from mainline) the system hangs if you toggle WIFI off with Fn+F2. This is not a new bug. Same thing happend with -rc4. On next boot, Wifi is off, and you have to toggle it on again, and it works. And as long as the connection is not established, it looks like you can toggle it off, with out the system hangs. My eee has the Ralink RT2860 wifi card.
